For Mid Primary Students (Ages 7โ12)
STEM Robotics Mechanisms 201 helps students move from simple robot operation into structured coding logic. This course introduces command-based robot programming using physical programming cards and a card scanner โ no computer required.
Students learn how commands, sequences, sensors, and outputs work together. Instead of typing code, they use pre-programmed coding cards to build logical instructions, making this course an excellent bridge between hands-on robotics and formal programming. The addition of LED sensors and a buzzer sensor expands the range of creative projects students can build.
Who Is This For?
- Mid primary students (Ages 7โ12)
- Students progressing from the 101 Foundations Kit
- Learners ready for their first coding logic experience (screen-free)
- Schools and centres introducing structured programming concepts
Learning Focus
- Basic coding logic โ sequences, loops, and conditions
- Card-based programming using physical coding cards and card scanner
- Input and output relationships โ sensors triggering robot actions
- LED sensor control โ red, blue, and green
- Sound output through buzzer sensor
- Debugging through physical robot behaviour
- Gear mechanisms and mechanical engineering concepts
Coding Method
Card-Based Programming
Students use pre-programmed coding cards scanned by the card scanner. Each card represents a command (move, turn, sensor check, repeat). Students arrange cards in sequence to build programs โ a powerful screen-free introduction to programming logic.
