Refund & Returns Policy
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the ACL.
1. Overview
This Refund & Returns Policy applies to all products purchased from MRT Robotics Pty Ltd (ABN 61 168 348 463) through our website. We are committed to providing quality educational robotics products and will work with you to resolve any issues.
2. Change of Mind Returns
We accept change-of-mind returns under the following conditions:
- Request must be made within 14 days of receiving the product.
- Product must be unused, unopened, and in original packaging.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
- A refund will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item.

3. Faulty or Defective Products
3.1 Dead on Arrival (DOA)
If a product is faulty upon receipt (within 7 days of delivery):
- Contact us immediately at [email protected] with your order number and photographs of the fault.
- We will arrange a free replacement or full refund, including return shipping costs.
3.2 Manufacturing Defects (within 90 days)
If a product develops a fault within 90 days of purchase due to manufacturing defect:
- Contact us with your order number, description of the issue, and photos/videos if possible.
- We will assess the fault and offer a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate.
- Return shipping for confirmed manufacturing defects will be covered by MRT Robotics.
3.3 Major Failure (ACL Rights)
Under the ACL, if a product has a major failure, you may choose:
- A refund of the purchase price, or
- A replacement product of the same type.
A major failure includes: the product is unsafe, significantly different from its description, or substantially unfit for its common purpose and cannot be easily fixed.
4. What Is NOT Covered
The following are not covered by this policy:
- Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or improper handling (e.g. incorrect wiring, drops, water exposure)
- Normal wear and tear from regular educational use
- Damage from unauthorised modifications or repairs
- Products used in a manner inconsistent with provided instructions
- Consumable items such as batteries
- Products purchased from unauthorised resellers
5. Electronic Components
Educational robotics kits contain electronic components (mainboards, sensors, motors) that require careful handling. We strongly recommend:
- Following the assembly instructions provided in the e-Learning course
- Supervising younger students during building and wiring
- Storing kits in a dry, cool environment when not in use
- Not exceeding recommended voltage or modifying circuits
6. e-Learning Subscriptions
- e-Learning subscriptions are non-refundable once course content has been accessed.
- If you have not accessed any course content, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
- Free e-Learning access bundled with robotics kits is not separately refundable.
7. School Orders
Returns and refunds for school orders (processed via Purchase Order) will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us directly.
8. How to Request a Return or Refund
- Email [email protected] with:
- Your order number
- Description of the issue
- Photos or videos of any damage or fault
- We will respond within 2 business days with next steps.
- Do not return products without first receiving a Return Authorisation from us.
9. Refund Processing
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method (credit card via Stripe).
- Processing time: 5–10 business days from the date we receive the returned item (or approve the refund).
- Shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are non-refundable.
